New Language, New Goal

Spanish Monastery

I haven't forgotten that this is the Year of Yes (even though my success thus far has been less than remarkable) so I've devised the newest goal for myself.
I'm going to learn to speak Spanish!

So, I was that kid who zigged while everyone else zagged- I mean, only so far as high school language courses, otherwise I was a bit of an Average Alice. I took French in high school, then Italian in college all the while knowing full well that Spanish would be the most practical decision, since I live in California and, particularly, San Diego for so long

Yet, my Spanish speaking skills never progressed past "it tastes garlicky" and that's only because I helped my friends study for their quizzes and that phrase is the only one that stuck with me.
Well, all that ends here.

Enter my miracle worker:

I'm extremely excited to start my Spanish course with Ms. Rosetta Stone. I've always been rather successful in the classroom environment, I say that not in a boastful way, seeing as I am done with school now and life is, basically, uncharted territory for me. I say it really just to point out the fact that this is pretty much right up my alley.

I hope to start the program and report back to you all about my success and/or failure. Shoot, maybe I'll be able to write a short post entirely in Spanish when all is said and done! Maybe that should be my official goal.

Alright. Game on!
May the Year of Yes re-commence!

Anyone else trying out something new, or even returning to a long lost skill? Maybe you can join in on this re-commencement too.

xoxoxo
