I just finished "Mediterranean Holiday" by Kate Cann and now, she's got me dreaming of an island vacation off Malta where I'm surrounded by crystal blue water and warm sunshine.
Thanks a lot, Kate.

I picked this book up about a week or so ago from a Goodwill store as a quick, light read.
The story, itself, was enjoyable. The plot actually had quite a few twists that I certainly didn't see coming and the last few chapters are an absolute delight to read because the main character, Chloe, finally has the self-confidence to stand up for what she wants.
What I really loved about the book though, was the fantastic imagery the author uses when describing the island. While the story is technically set on the fictitious island of Caminos, the author does note that there are two islands, Gozo and Comino, that exist off of Malta. Cann describes this island so beautifully that it was all I could do to Google images of Malta as soon as I finished the last page.
I mean, with description like this, who wouldn't put themselves in the same place?
I will also be combing through all the photos on this site, it seems like quite the hub of information regarding the islands. This one too, at least for a general overview.

"A soft breeze, sweet-smelling and warm, stroked my face and lifted my hair. It was gorgeous, exotic -- my skin was tingling with it. The sun was sinking fast, much faster than it does in England. And there was a whirring, chirring noise, undulating up and down...It was part of the evening, it was perfect, and I knew what it was..."Cicadas!" I said triumphantly."
I have it all planned out too.
I would soak up the sun on the beaches.
Walk along the old cobblestone paths.
And fall in love with sights like these.
