Falling in Love with Fall

The beginning of October marks it for me.
We are officially in the fall season.
Shoot, the holidays are practically around the corner!
The change of seasons has this summer girl scrambling to accept the increasingly shorter, colder days.
I think I will be fine though once I get my winter wardrobe fully equipped and pumpkin flavoring starts being added freely into any kitchen creation possible.
That's just a guess though.

So, let me begin by observing that you know you've made it when you have a container of useless items 'decorating' a corner. Whether that be the ever so posh vase of branches, the modern-looking bowl of marbles or, as you see here, the cozy home feeling of a basket of pinecones.
We are still waiting for the Home and Garden rep. to give us a call.

As I confessed above, I have evolved into quite the summer girl. I blame my time spent in San Diego.
That place will literally ruin you for any other location or weather.
I haven't actually had to deal with real fall weather, except for the occasional rainfall, in quite some time.
I think that's why I am a bit hesitant about this season change.
I just don't know how to deal with it.

Day by day though, I reminded about all the fabulous things fall has to offer.
I now pass a pumpkin patch on the way to work.
When I get coffee, I can put cinnamon, nutmeg and all those other eathy spices in it.
I can choose to make myself hot chocolate for an after-dinner drink, complete, of course, with a huge dollop(or two) of whipped cream on top.
When I go shopping, I can buy myself big sweaters and those cute, thick tights that have the seam up the back (I explain this like it's a passing whim, when really I plan to buy those exact tights next time I go out).

Finally, the beginning of fall means Halloween is coming up, which in our house means decorations go up!
Even better, this year I was actually here to help put them up, which hasn't happened for three years.
Here is a brief glimpse of how amazing the house looks:

I will obviously have to take some better photos.
Maybe even another video like I did last year with the Christmas decorations.
Anyway, I just wanted to give you an idea of the cool things happening over here and also to inform you that I am warming up to the idea of fall being here.
I know you were deeply concerned about that fact.

Are you all excited about the season change?
Anything in particular you are looking forward to?

Love to you all!
