Ah, the possibilities

It's almost the weekend;
the glorious, wonderful weekend.
I don't know anyone who doesn't love those two little days off.
I mean, I suppose if you really, really loved work and didn't want it to end you'd be against weekends.
That's a little hard to imagine though.
With my new work schedule my weekend is now midweek as opposed to Saturday, Sunday. I gotta say, other than the unfortunate fact that everyone else's Friday is now my Monday, I enjoy it.
It feels like I'm playing hooky instead of being off.
Plus, everyone else is at work, so all the stores are empty.
It's really quite lovely.

In my mind, the greatest part about the weekend is the utter sense of possiblity that comes with them.
I'm not saying every weekend is the spur of the moment, "let's drive to the Grand Canyon" kind of possibility.
Although that would be quite a delight.
I'm talking about all the little choices.
The decision to wake naturally, as opposed to setting an alarm.
The decision to make pancakes for breakfast, instead of your normal cereal.
The decision to write a post rejoicing weekends on your oft-forgotten blog, as opposed to quickly skimming through everyone else's posts.
I mean, these are all just off the top of my head though.

Barring family obligations, these two days (or however many you might have) are days that can be all about you and what you want to do.

The only downside is soon you are going to have to backlog everything you want to do, because there is only so much things you can scrunch into two days.
But, then that gives you something to look forward to all week.
Taylor and I are going down to San Diego this coming week (my weekend) to finally see some of my lovely roommates again, and for Halloween of course!
I can safely say this plan will get me through the coming week, regardless of how stressful or not it is.

Yes, weekends are a good time to run errands and get wok done that fell by the wayside during the week.
But don't get so bogged down in that, that you don't enjoy yourself too.

Shoot go crazy.
Buy that bottle of wine for yourself.
You're on your weekend after all!

The picture is one of those old-fashioned fortune tellers by the way.
Remember the rush of excitment your fourth grader self used to get when you got the fortune that said, "someone in class has a crush on you?"
Yeah, I'm bringing it back.
