Bucket List- Read Something by Jane Austen

It might have taken me an entire month, but I did it.
I have officially been inducted into the Jane Austen Fan Club.
Now, not only do I feel confident in my readiness to conduct total Jeopardy domination,
club members also get jackets!

I will be one hundred percent honest with you, I am extremely proud of myself for this particular Bucket List accomplishment.
While it was a lovely performance, having my entire knowledge of Austen come from Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen just seemed a bit wrong.
Not to mention the fact that I felt left out of one, big literary joke whenever I went to Barnes and Noble and saw a million spin-offs of the books, covering everything from zombies to mystery disappearances.

I am actually a bit surprised to report that I enjoyed the book.
I really didn't think Austen was going to be my cup of tea.
Even now, I can see reading her only when I am in a very particular mood. Lucky for me, British period pieces seems to be a mood that strikes me quite often.
I've actually already downloaded Northanger Abbey, Mansfield Park and Pride and Prejudice so I don't see me getting over this phase any time soon.
I mean, why stop now, right?
I've already gotten past the biggest hurdle of understanding the language, so it's gotta be all downhill from there.
Plus, how could you willingly refuse yourself words that beautiful?

Gosh, all this talk about reading makes me want to, well, read, of course!
I am off to start Mansfield Park
Wish my luck on my latest Austen endeavor.

xoxoxo
