What you'll Need: A box of tissues and a phone nearby to call your best girlfriends

Sisterhood Everlasting, the final installment of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series by Ann Brashares, joins the foursome ten years later. Now thirty, Carmen, Lena, Tibby and Bridget's ongoing friendship is tested in ways they could never imagine. As they grow older and their lives become more hectic, the girls find themselves asking if their friendship, once believed indestructible, can still survive all that life throws at them.

I started reading this book midway through my Spring Break and found myself incapable of putting it down. Even when I wasn't reading it, I continually thought back to it and what the girls were going through. I'll confess that I already possessed a particularly close attachment to the girls in the Sisterhood books. I, too, have a Sisterhood that I rely upon dearly. The ups and downs depicted within the book, seemed to mirror the same happenings within my own friendships and this was at once heartwrenching and comforting.

Regardless of this prior connection, however, Brashares constructs a story that reads so true to life that you feel as if you are going through everything with the characters page by page. Unlike the previous books in the series, the subject matter of Sisterhood Everlasting is darker and more emotional. Seemingly effortlessly, the series appears to grows up not only with the girls, but its readers too. The book might not be as lighthearted of a romp as the others, but after reading it you are left with the feeling that you are taking something away with you. The ending truly leaves you in a good place.

I could not recommend this book more. If you are looking for a new read, you should definitely consider this one.
