We all knew this day would come. I can only avoid exercise for so long until I am physically compelled to workout. Generally, the dreaded swimsuit shopping saga is threat enough to get me going. Ladies and gentlemen, that moment is upon us. It is worth noting that I was able to break a sweat and the world didn't cease to exist. There is hope for me yet!

Graduation Party: Attire

Graduation is rapidly approaching and that brings with it an emotional stew of nerves and excitement. I am not one of those people who like change. I am usually terrified of it actually. The fact that this particular change sets the course for my life is, well, slightly more horrific. Oddly enough though, I am actually excited too. This is quite out of character for me but I feel like I am ready to be done with school and get started with the rest of my life.

Okay, so we all have those weeks. You know, the ones that can start out amazing, but slowly spiral downward into an emotional tailspin. Well, all dramatics aside, my week was kinda like that. I think I will blame the fact the Friday the 13th fell on this week. Obviously, my life was operating under some bad mojo.

Addendum: Today is National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day! No joke! Celebrate with this fantastic sandwich; fate demands it.

I am quite excited about this post because I have a new dish that I've recently added to my repertoire to share with you. This means I have a third dish to sandwich between my salad/pasta rotation! Big news folks, big news.

Nothing Says America Like Apple Pie and Baseball

Is your mouth watering just a bit?

 I am not generally one for creative puns and metaphors because, often, what I think is beyond witty does not make sense to anyone else. With this fact in mind, this post is about exactly what the title suggests it is: Apple Pie and Baseball. Specifically, my friend Taylor and my attempts at making a homemade apple pie then attending America's pastime.

Into the Wilderness

I know many of you familiar with the area of Sonoma will disagree with me referring to it as "woodsy" but I'm going to stand by it. I grew up in the desert surrounded by Joshua trees and dirt and now live in San Diego, the sprawling urban metropolis that it is. So, yes, I do considered a large cluster of trees to warrant a wilderness title.

Now that that has been cleared up, I would like to share some of my pictures of this nature-filled area with you. It is absolutely gorgeous up there. If it didn't rain so much, I think I would actually enjoy living there. That's a personal problem of course. Rain always makes my hair go all frizzy, so you can imagine how I feel once it starts. Long story short, Sonoma is lovely to visit.

                               We saw exactly one butterfly and it was beautiful!

Have I convinced you all to visit now? If so, mission accomplished. If not, your heart is frozen. I mean that in the nicest possible way of course.

I'm Back!

Did you all just miss Sunshiny Beat so much?

Let me just tell you that I had an absolutely wonderful Spring Break! It was everything I hoped it would be and just that much more. I cannot wait to share all my photos and adventures with you. You are definitely in for a treat I can assure you.

What's that? You want a hint about what we were up to? Well, there was a little bit of craft time, a little bit of baking time, a sprinkle of athletics and whole bucket of fabulousness! Bet you just can't wait to hear more now, huh?

 Just imagine what kind of crazy shenanigans we were up to!

Well all good things come to those who wait. I will be putting blocks of photos up at a time, so I can give you the full background on each one. Think of it like a modern projector slideshow of vacation photos. Except this will be far more enjoyable. I promise! So with that tempting tidbit, I must bid you adieu for now. I have to get back into this whole "work" business all over again.
