Fashion Cues from Fictional Teens

 The teens in question are the four uber stylish high schoolers from Pretty Little Liars. (If you don't know of the show I'm referencing, what have you been doing with your life?!) Girls who can focus on putting together the perfect statement outfit for English class even while there is a maniacal person/s out there trying to ruin their lives. 

Puts some things into perspective, huh?

Well at first I was slightly embarrassed about admitting that I get my fashion inspiration from these girls.

A quick Internet search, however, shows that I am good company.

There are dozens of blogs and tumblrs dedicated to replicating the outfits seen on the show.

So I AM a sophisticated, mature adult.

Well, in the very least I'm not alone and I will take that!

So, while all the girls inevitably have something adorable on in each episode, I always like Hanna's (the blonde) stuff best. I've gotten past the whole, 'Who wears that kind of thing to high school' hangup and now see the show as a lineup of potential work and weekend outfits. It's really quite beneficial in my quest for the imaginary best dressed award at work.

I think I've got it in the bag.

If only we had a Dundies Award show like The Office.

Anyway I'm getting off track.

My latest purchase was inspired by this little gem.

The photo is a little small, but I am talking about her jacket.

Apparently it is Pink Plaid Jacket by Semantiks and it sold out.

Luckily for me, I went to Forever 21 yesterday and found my own version of the coat.

Now, obviously it's different.

I accept that. I'm not delusional.

But if I wanted the exact thing that each of them wear, I'd be in the poor house.

I'm much happier with my own version of things.

This adorable jacket was in the clearance section of the store and I got it for $10.00. 

Can't beat that.

I'm a little bit tempted to put elbow pads on it, but I don't know if that's taking things too far.

Is that even such a thing?

Another Hanna outfit that has been haunting me is this little number.

Safe to say before I went looking for a photo of it, I had a completely wrong image of it in my head.

I remembered it differently, so thus finding the image I was thinking of was impossible.

Good thing I finally figured it out or I'd be losing my mind.

Anyway, this outfit is still adorable regardless of how I remember it.

My friend would love me to replicate this one because then that would mean I would be wearing a peplum and she has been trying to get me in one for probably at least a year now.

This might just be the time.

Maybe.

I will be starting my hunt though.

And I will not be defeated!

Well I'm off to work so I can pay for my Pretty Little Liars addiction.
