Reason for the Silence...The Professional World Won't Be the Same

Yes, Ricky, I do have some es'plaining to do over why it's been so quiet around here.
This time it's good news though.
Promise.
Normally, when I haven't posted for awhile it tends to be because I have either forgotten my password, run out of places for outfit ideas or lost my camera with all of its super cute pics.

Yes, sometimes I have also just been busy.

But the kind of busy where you aren't really, but you feel like you are.

You know what I'm talking about?

Probably not, I'm not explaining that well at all.

What I'm very poorly attempting to say is that the recent bout of silence on here is because I have been busy, but the real kind of busy this time. 

The kind of busy that comes from 

................wait for it..........

getting a job!!!

If I could have personalized fireworks and individual parades scroll across the screen as you read that line, believe me I would!

No amount of fanfare could adequately express how excited I am about this recent turn of events.

Not only have I found a job, I was blessed enough to find one in my field of interest.

Even in good economic times that is lucky.

I am a copy editor for the local newspaper, which basically means I edit stories for grammar and spelling mistakes as well as write headlines for those that need it.

In fact, here is my first published headline:

It's not amazing, I realize, but I am still unbelievably proud!

Another exciting upside of being part of the working world?

I get to come up with cute, professional outfits all the time.

The dozens of heels I have are finally getting some play!

This also means that I can work on some classy outfits on Polyvore and share them all with you, and you know how much I adore that!

Actually, since I've designated this show and tell time, here is one of my professional outfits from the previous week. 

Please forgive the fact that it is one of those cheesy, bathroom mirror photos. No one was around to photograph me. 

I'll work on better photos for any upcoming outfits.

 

So, firstly thank you to everyone that gave me pep-talks and confidence boosts during my long search. There were a lot of dicey moments. Need we go over the cat lady route again? For everyone's sake, I think not.

 Secondly, I also promise that I will work out a better schedule with updating my beloved Sunshiny Beat. I think once I start settling into a routine, things will get better.

By the by, I am definitely calling this a YES moment of 2012!
