The Summer Sun Is Calling My Name

Happy First Day of Summer!

I know I have likely said this countless times before, but I love Summer!

I love sitting on the beach soaking up the sunshine.

I love sitting with my girlfriends chitchatting for hours around a bonfire.

I love eating hotdogs and endless amounts of watermelon.

Finally, I love all of the upbeat, catchy songs playing on the radio.

I mean what's not to love? We have Carly Rae asking us to call her, maybe, if we feel like it, no pressure or anything. The new resident boy band is chasing the sun, but if Sun happens to be the quirky name of an art student in New York, as I suspect it is, I don't think they will be chasing for very long. Alas, I have gotten entirely off topic.

What I am trying to say is there is a lot of great music out there to dance around to, blast from your transistor radios (if people still use those, I'm not quite sure) and generally, just enjoy.

Now, I would not be upholding my civic duty if I did not provide a little Summer Lovin' Playlist for y'all after talking it up this much so without further ado; here it is!

Walk the Moon- "Anna Sun"

This is my first time hearing them and I gotta admit, I am digging it. The video definitely sold it for me!

Eternal Summers- "Millions"

I like the beat in this one a lot. The video is a bit interesting, but overall, I like it.

Rilo Kiley- "Breakin Up"

Now breaking up might not necessarily be Summertime appropriate, but she says it in such an upbeat way that you can't help but sing along. Plus, the 1:48 mark or so of this video is amazing!
